Building The Story

An urban pop-culture legend, Jon Burgerman's playful scribbles are featured on toys, apparel, wallpaper, canvas and large murals - and as we find out in this article - bums (or boxers worn on bums). His popularity has in fact seen him immortalised on people's bodies with his signature childlike aesthetic informing tattoos on sleeves world over.

UK born, NYC based, the artist became a pen pal of sorts over the course of developing this piece. Through email, we began an honest discussion on his implementation of doodles, the power of improvised art in the public forum and how humour can be a useful tool for spreading difficult messages; giving raw insight to the lone man behind an instantly recognisable sea of funny faces.
